Graph My Motion Project
In the Graph My Motion project, we made a 20-30 second short movie depicting motion in the first dimension that showed velocity, acceleration, distance, and time. My partner, Chloe, and I made a video of me walking, pausing, walking again, pausing again, for about 30 seconds. We then edited our footage and added motion and velocity graphs showing my motion. A success for us in this project was meeting requirments and turning in our work on time. A huge challenge for us was that when we went to edit our footage, it was lost and we had to film all over again. (Of course we found the footage later after we had started over.) That made us fall behind the entire class and when the other students were presenting, we were supposed to be making graphs of their motion, but I couldn't because I was working on finishing our project. Resulting from the setback, I had to take extra time to finish the graphs and turn them in late for half credit. Even though it had been made really difficult, we presented our project complete and on time. I think next time though, I need to be more careful and more responsible for saving my footage where I know where I can find it. If I could change this project, I would have saved the footage the right way from the beginning so that I could have finished it and finished my graphs on time.
