The Belmont Park Mini-Project
In my group for the Belmont Park Mini-Project was Skylar, and Sandra. This was a mini project within a big project, which I am still in this group for. I like both Sandra and Skylar. They are very creative, smart, and helpful and I am confident that we will make a great end product that will be beautiful and exquisite work.
In this mini project, we visited Belmont Park and studied the Giant Dipper roller coaster (we also rode it a couple of times). This was for inspiration on the larger project that we would soon be starting. After getting to know the coaster, we had to make a mini project of it that included a short story or poem, an art piece, and our own sketch of the Giant Dipper coaster. For our project consisted of a poem about the relationship between life and a roller coaster, the art piece shown above (created by me), and a detailed sketch of the Giant Dipper roller coaster. The art piece may seem random, but it was connected to the poem. In the poem, the author talked about how life is a roller coaster and how we cope by surrounding ourselves with comforting things, like teddy bears.
In this project I learned that in order for a project to be complete, everyone needs to do their part to make their project the best that it can be. This project went pretty well because we got everything done well and on time, but I will admit that I am a procrastinator and I created this art piece at the very last minute and that I should have spent more time on it to make it beautiful, exquisite work. A struggle I had in this project was not focusing on the content of the actual project, but focusing on the fun parts and not so much working on the work. Fortunately, I have a very kind teacher who so graciously granted us work time for the project right before it was due, so I was able to use those 30 minutes to really crackdown and make sure the project was finished.
I think that, overall, I did well on my element of this project. I met the requirements, and I created something I am proud of, but I think next time I need to put more time and effort into my creations. If I could change this project, I would do something more creative than just drawing and colouring a teddy bear.
